Our Heavenly Father wants us to care for others and have a kind heart. In 2 Timothy 3:2-4 (NLT), it says, “For people will love only themselves and their money. They will be boastful and proud, scoffing at God, disobedient to their parents and ungrateful. They will consider nothing sacred. They will be unloving and unforgiving; they will slander others and have no self-control. They will be cruel and hate what is good. They will betray their friends, be reckless, be puffed up with pride, and love pleasure rather than God.” We should never want to be like the people this passage is referring to. Instead, we should want to please God by being generous and sharing what we have.
This passage shows us how selfishness can take over people’s hearts. It describes a life where people put themselves first, and they forget about the needs of other people around them. As God’s children, we need to recognize this negative quality and stay away from it. God wants us to have a heart full of love, kindness, and care for the people around us. We should aim to live in a way that makes God happy by being loving, forgiving, and thinking of others.
In conclusion, we should always try to have a selfless heart. When we avoid selfishness and choose to care for others, it honors God. Most importantly, it shows that we love Him and want to live through His love and light.
